Meritus is excited to announce the addition of Interior Designer Cortney Whitfield to its staff.
Cortney’s interest in interior design sparked when she took an interior design course her senior year of high school. As her passion grew, she began searching for schools in South Carolina that offered interior design as a study. She landed on Anderson University’s interior design program and gained a base knowledge of residential and commercial design at the college. Cortney received great, hands-on experience at Anderson University, using computer design programs, creating design boards and selecting materials and finishes. While at Anderson, she also started a volunteer team to help with Habitat for Humanity.
After graduating, Cortney pursued a job in the furniture industry.
“Furniture design has always intrigued me and I really wanted to learn as much as I could about furniture. I had the privilege of working for Bogari European Contemporary Furniture gallery as a design consultant and sales associate for two years,” said Cortney. At Bogari, Cortney had the opportunity to help clients select materials and finishes for their furniture, work on design projects, order and assemble pieces of furniture and take part in helping run the small business.
Cortney is excited to start a new chapter of her interior design career at Meritus Signature Homes.
“Meritus Homes has a brilliant team of talented individuals who are passionate about what they do. The amount of attention and dedication that they devote to each client sets them apart. They work with the client every step of the way to make sure that, in the end, the client is happy and satisfied with the services,” said Cortney.
